Manhattan Warehouse Management Implementation

Lead implementation of Manhattan WMS for Windows.  Installed and configured MWM production environment.  Set up interfaces with other in-house systems and external client systems using XML, flat file formats, FTP as well as direct interfaces to other SQL Server & Oracle 8i systems.

 

License Plate Management add-on for MWM

Designed and lead implementation of a License Plate Management add-on to Manhattan WMS.  License Plating methodology in warehouse environment is designed to make movement of goods and physical inventory less error-prone.  It also provides ability to implement other methodologies for picking efficiency and provides for better traceability of goods movements within the warehouse.  The LP system was written in VB.NET and T-SQL.  RF module for LP system was written in ASP.NET & subsequently rewritten as a client application using .NET Compact Framework.


 

 

RFID Implementation

RFID technology promises to revolutionize the way warehouses and retail stores operate.  Some major retailers already require their vendors to apply RFID tags on cartons shipped to stores and distribution center.  Lead implementation of RFID.  Did extensive research on the technology and tools commercially available to implement it.  Designed and wrote code to enable existing in-house warehouse management system to print RFID labels to Zebra Gen II RFID Label Printers.  Designed and lead development of an RFID Label verification system, interfaced with Alien RFID Readers.

 

Warehouse Management System

Lead design and implementation of a custom written WMS designed to support operations of multiple 3PL warehouses.  Functionality of the system included receiving order transmissions from customer systems, processing of the orders, paperwork printing, compliance labeling, producing shipping labels for UPS, USP and FedEx, picking lists as well as managing inventory, and much more.  System was written in VB.NET and SQL Server 2000.  Used WaveLink Studio to write interfaces running on Symbol DOS based RF scanners.

IDNC Data Portal Maintenance & Enhancements

Provide maintenance, support and system enhancement for IDNC DP system.  System is based on SQL Server 2000, ASP, VB6 & XML.  It was written to support operation of International Data Network Center.  The system assists in determining outage impact, recording outage related maintenance log and sending notifications to engineers involved in system restoration.

Took part in VMware Workstation rollout project.  Work involved creating and configuring VMware virtual machines, writing WSH VB scripts to automate deployment tasks.  Developed Wise Installer packages for 3rd party applications to be deployed across ML IT department.

 

Citibank Corp, New York, NY

Responsible for gathering requirements, system analysis, design and prototype implementation of a Credit Risk Management System for Citibank.  The system was implemented using Sybase Adaptive Server 12 and ASP and Cognos Products.

 

MCI WorldCom, Piscataway, NJ

Took part in gathering requirements, design and staging a proof-of-concept implementation to facilitate alarm management of MCI WorldCom mission critical network management systems.  Tibco Data Portal products were used to consolidate status data produced by Newbridge, Tautron and HP OpenView network managers.  An Alarm notification system was built using SQL Server and ASP.  Several Lotus Notes and FoxPro alarm notification systems were converted and consolidated as part of the project.

Designed and implemented and subsequently supported a system for MCI WorldCom to support their International Data Network Center operations.  The system was coded in SQL Server 2000, ASP & VB6. Utilized ODBC, XML and ASCII flat files to build numerous bridges to external systems running on disparate platforms including Oracle, Java and SQL Server.  The system used COM to access department address book stored in MS Outlook.  The work involved heavy T-SQL coding to process large amounts of data, writing performance sensitive queries and stored procedures.

Designed and implemented a system in SQL Server 2000 and ASP for MCI WorldCom HR department.

 

ToysRUs.Com, Montvale, NJ

Worked on a team of 15 top ColdFusion developers in the country to build and maintain ToysRUs.com state-of-the-art e-commerce site.  The site and its’ back-end support systems were implemented using ColdFusion 4.5, Oracle 8i, Perl and Java Applets/Servlets running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server cluster of 400 web servers.  Work required rigorous QA and performance tuning.

Served as a leading VB P/A in development of a multi-tier securities trading application.  The project spanned an interface application on Windows NT that communicated with CICS/AIX programs via IBM Interspace, CICS Cobol programs which manipulated data in DB2 on OS/390.  Work involved heavy VB coding, source code management using PVCS on a team of 12 programmers, also required understanding of MVS and middle-ware Cobol programs.  Did research and created prototypes in preparation to migrate the front-end VB application to the Intranet.

Worked on a team of developers to build and support a stock option management application written in VB and Crystal Reports with Sybase on Solaris OS as back-end.  The front-end VB application was eventually migrated to Intranet using IBM Visual Age for Java.

Designed and implemented several multi-tier e-commerce applications using Cold Fusion, Java, HTML, SQL Server and MS Access.  Work involved drawing up the specifications for the project, research of suitable technologies to complete it and coding and deployment using FTP and CarbonCopy and proprietary NT Server administration tools.  Researched and wrote application models in ASP, DrumBeat and Cold Fusion.

Led development of a warehousing and billing application using MS Access 2000 on the front end and MS SQL Server on the back end.  Used ColdFusion to build remote web interfaces to the data in SQL Server database.  Work involved heavy user communications, coordination of the project with other developers and heavy coding in VBA and T-SQL.  Provided support for a warehousing application written in Clipper.
